New Rates Effective May 1st, 2010

Effective May 1st, 2010, the distribution monthly service charge and the local distribution volumetric rates will increase by 3.5%. The commodity price and transportation & storage price will not change. The overall effect of this price change will increase a typical residential bill (3100 cubic metres annually) by an estimated $16.86 annually.

Also, affecting electricity customers for Kingston Hydro, the Ontario Energy Board (OEB) has reviewed electricity Regulated Price Plan (RPP) commodity prices and there will be an increase to these prices effective May 1, 2010. As well, for residential RPP consumers there will be a change in the Tier I threshold to reflect the summer season.
