Ravensview Technology Put To The Test
New technology at the Ravensview sewage treatment plant is already showing what it can do to improve the quality of water (sampled at right) the facility
discharges into the St. Lawrence River. The $115-million upgrade project at Ravensview, scheduled to be completed in 2009, is designed to improve effluent quality
and increase the treatment plant's capacity.

Rural Broadband Provider Announced

OmniGlobe Networks Inc. has been selected to provide wireless broadband access to unserved rural areas of the Kingston region. The effort to offer the rural
communities high-speed Internet access reflects a joint effort of the City of Kingston (inlcuding Utilities Kingston and the Kingston Economic Development
Corporation), Frontenac County and the province's Ontario Municipal Broadband Partnership Program.

EA Proceeds For Water Storage Reservoir

anticipation of building a water storage reservoir and pumping station to be located on the north leg of O'Connor Drive (off Gardiner's Road).

Electricity Retrofit Incentive Program
The Electricity Retrofit Incentive Program, which aims to influence buisnesses to make electricity choices when selecting equipement in order to conserve
electricity and save money, has been extended to December 31, 2010. Through the program, the Ontario Power Authority (OPA) and Kingston Hydro, are assisting
Commercial, Industrial, and Institutional and Agricultural customers to conserve energy.

2007 Water-Quality Reports Available

Utilities Kingston has released the 2007 versions of its annual reports on drinking water quality. The reports examine the Kingston Central and Kingston West
water filtration plants, the Cana Well system used by some citizens in Kingston East, and the Sydenham facility, which Utilities Kingston operates on behalf of
South Frontenac Township.

Kingston West Water Plant Study Starts
Utilities Kingston is preparing to upgrade the Point Pleasant (Kingston West) Water Treatment Plant and has initiated the Class Environmental Assessment process
in order to guide the next steps. Utilities Kingston aims to nearly double the plant's capacity by 2012.
