OPEN HOUSE: SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANT UPGRADES, PROGRESS AT KINGSTON WEST PLANT WILL BE DETAILED
Utilities Kingston is working towards restoring to full capacity the Kingston West Sewage Treatment Plant located to the east
of Dupont on Front Road. The engineering design is nearing completion with construction scheduled to begin in May 2002.
The proposed upgrades include the implementation of a septage receiving facility complete with an odour control system, an
indoor sludge management system and various other improvements. When completed, this project will restore the plant capacity
to 38,800 cubic metres per day compared to a current capacity of 30,400 cubic metres per day.
The general public is invited to attend this Open House to meet with Utilities Kingston staff and their Consultants to review
the proposed upgrades.
