THREE SITES CONSIDERED FOR NEW WATER STORAGE FACILITY IN KINGSTON WEST
Utilities Kingston will host an open house on Thursday June 13, 2002 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the municipal office at 1425 Midland Avenue to inform the public about three sites under consideration for a new water storage facility in Kingston West.
The current treated water storage volume in Kingston West does not meet Ministry of Environment design guidelines and also experiences low water pressures from time to time. Increasing the water storage capacity in the zone has been identified as a method of addressing these concerns.
Utilities Kingston is undertaking an Environmental Assessment to determine the most appropriate site for a new water storage facility to service the pressure zone and public comment is invited at the June 13th open house.
Information on the study can be obtained by contacting Sally McIntyre an environmental planner with R.V. Anderson Associates Limited at (613) 226-1844 or locally, Utilities Kingston engineer Allen K. Lucas, at
(613) 546-1181 ext. 2250.
