CITY-WIDE WATER RESTRICTION
HAS BEEN LIFTED

The City of Kingston has removed the mandatory water restrictions that were put in place on July 3, 2002. This lifting of the water restrictions is effective immediately.

This City-wide restriction was due to unusually warm and dry weather conditions this summer which led to excessively high water demands. Water restrictions became necessary to maintain the safety and integrity of the water system.

The end of summer and subsequent cooler temperatures has caused a reduction in water demands which enables the City to remove the water restrictions. However, it is still requested that water users continue to practice water conservation and to use water wisely.

The City of Kingston would like to thank everyone for their cooperation and diligence in practicing water conservation over these past few months. Your dedicated efforts help maintain our water reservoir levels.
