ON WATER, SEWER RATES

Pursuant to Municipal Act 2001 - Ontario Regulation 244/02, the Corporation of the City of Kingston intends to pass a by-law establishing the rates charged for water & sewer reflecting the 2003 budget requirements.

A Public Meeting will be held:

March 4, 2003
at 7:00 p.m.
in Council Chambers, City Hall
216 Ontario Street, Kingston, Ontario

This By-law establishes the rates charged by Utilities Kingston for the treatment / distribution of water and the collection/treatment of sewage. Rates collected under this by-law are to fund operating expenses and capital expenditures associated with the water and sewer systems.

Copies of the Proposed 2003 Rate Schedule and the 2003 Water and Sewer Budgets are available at Utilities Kingston offices at 211 Counter Street, Kingston Ontario or by contacting Sandi Wright at 546-1181 ext 2226.

An electronic copy of the 2003 Rate Schedule can also be downloaded from the official Web sites of Utilities Kingston and the City of Kingston.

Written comments can be forwarded to: City of Kingston, Attn: City Clerk, 216 Ontario Street, Kingston Ontario, K7L 2Z3. Council shall hear any person who wishes to address this issue at the Public Meeting.
