CITY UPDATES EMERGENCY SITUATION
The City of Kingston's municipal control group has received confirmation that power has been restored to rural areas of
the community meaning that it will hold back on its plan to transport drinking water to the Joyceville and Glenburnie
fire stations, for now. The water is ready to be transported and will be brought to these locations if required say city
officials.
There is a ban on all lawn watering until further notice - people are being asked to reduce the amount of energy and
water used as much as possible until further notice.
As a precautionary measure, there is a BOIL WATER ADVISORY for Kingston West in effect, until further notice. The
advisory applies to water north of Taylor Kidd and will remain in effect until further notice.
All municipal administrative buildings and the Provincial Offences office on Wellington Street are closed today. All
recreation programs and the Grand Theatre will not operate today.
The Ontario Works offices will be closed today but regular transit and garbage collection will take place.
A Citizen Inquiry Centre has been established and the telephone number is 384-1954. Residents can call this number to
obtain up-to-date information related to the emergency situation.
9-11 should only be called if you require an emergency response.
