LABOUR DAY HOLIDAY RESCHEDULES CITY & UTILITIES SERVICES

Monday, September 1, 2003, is Labour Day and that means some changes to municipal operations:

  • Administrative/Utilities Kingston: All administrative offices, including Utilities Kingston and Social Services, are closed Labour Day Monday. Municipal offices re-open Tuesday, September 2.
  • Kingston Transit: Kingston Transit does not operate Labour Day Monday, September 1. Regular bus service returns Tuesday, September 2.
  • Garbage and Recycling: There is no garbage or recycling collected Labour Day Monday, September 1. Monday's collection moves to Tuesday and for the balance of the week, collection occurs the day after regular garbage day.
  • Kingston Area Recycling Centre: KARC is open 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Saturday, August 30th; closed Labour Day Monday, September 1. Note: The popular large item drop off program runs until September 13 but is closed Labour Day.
  • Artillery Park Aquatic Centre: Closed Labour Day Monday, September 1; re-opens Tuesday, September 2.
  • Emergencies: For a utility emergency needing immediate attention; Gas smells, water main break, etc., call 546-1181, 24 hours.
