Jim Keech, CEO, Utilities Kingston, 546-1181 ext.2217 NEW WATER TOWER PLANNED FOR KINGSTON WEST
Utilities Kingston announced this week it plans to construct a $2.5-million water tower in Kingston's west-end next year.
"We anticipate that with improved water storage capacity we'll see an end to fluctuating water pressure experienced by some homeowners in the Cataraqui Woods neighbourhood area", said Jim Keech, CEO
of the city owned utility company.
The water storage tower will serve the area bounded by Princess Street, Sydenham Road, Highway 401 and Bayridge Drive say utility officials.
"New housing development continues at a rapid pace in the west so the water tower will help assure sufficient water capacity", noted Keech.
Construction of the tower is planned for next year and will be located on Creekford Road near Gardiner's Road.
Utilities Kingston officials say that even with the new water tower in place, outdoor water conservation measures will likely remain in place.
