TOURS OF UPGRADED WATER AND
SEWER TREATMENT PLANTS OFFERED

The public can tour the $15 million upgraded King Street water treatment plant and the Kingston West sewage treatment plant tomorrow October 15 from 12:00 noon until 7:00 p.m. Free transportation from City Hall is provided.

For three years, Utilities Kingston staff has worked on upgrading the 1950's - era water treatment plant while rebuilding the original portions and restoring the capacity of the 40 year old Kingston West sewage treatment plant.

Mayor Turner will officially mark the completion of these projects with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 3:30 pm on Wednesday October 15, 2003 at the King Street Water Treatment Plant.

A shuttle bus will run between the facilities and City hall to provide transportation to all who wish to view these facilities. The bus departs City Hall at 12:00 noon, 1:15 pm, 2:30 pm, 3:45 pm, 4:45 pm, 5:45 pm - Tours are approximately 45 minutes.
