WATERMAIN BREAK DISRUPTS WATER SERVICE NORTH OF 401
Utilities Kingston is forced to disrupt the water supply to its water customers on Sydenham Road north of highway 401 including the Aylesworth subdivision in order to repair a break in the watermain servicing that area.
Customers will be without water for approximately 4 hours beginning at 7:00 p.m. this evening.
Once the watermain break is corrected, Utilities Kingston will flush the watermain before reconnecting water service to the area. While the flushing is taking place, Iron (red water) deposits may become stirred up in the system and cause a discolouration in the water.
The discolouration is temporary and poses no health risk. Simply run your cold water until it clears.
Before doing laundry or other projects that may be affected by discoloured water, residents should make sure the cold water is running clear. Residents may also prefer to keep a pitcher of clear water in the refrigerator for drinking.
Utilities Kingston regrets any inconvenience caused by the power interruption. Residents can call the Customer Service Center at 546-0000 for more information.
