UTILITIES KINGSTON NATURAL GAS CUSTOMERS GET A PRICE BREAK
Beginning tomorrow, February 1, Utilities Kingston natural gas customers will be paying less for the gas they burn as the commodity rate and the transportation and storage charges drop for the first time in 12 months.
The commodity price for gas will decrease to $0.3750 from $0.3950 and the transportation and storage charge will decrease to $0.0670 from $0.0976.
The average residential customer uses approximately 3100 cubic metres of natural gas annually. "This combined decrease will reduce a typical winter bill by about $24.00 each month," says Utility President and CEO Jim Keech.
The commodity is the fuel burned by your appliances. Transportation and storage rates cover the cost of moving the natural gas from wells in Alberta to the City of Kingston boundary.
Natural gas rates are reviewed every three months. Find out what you're paying for natural gas.
