UTILITIES KINGSTON ISSUES
LATEST WATER-QUALITY REPORTS
Utilities Kingston has released the 2005 annual reports on drinking water quality.
"Utilities Kingston is pleased to present the 2005 water quality reports to the community," said Kevin Riley, water treatment manager.
The reports are prepared in response to Ontario Regulation 170 of the Safe Water Drinking Act.
"Ontario has one the strictest set of standards," added Riley. "Kingston continually meets and exceeds these standards."
Throughout the reports, readers will find useful information related to the safe drinking water provided to 124,000 people who live, work and play in the City
of Kingston each day.
The drinking water system reports detail how the systems operate. There are a series of filtration, treatment, monitoring and backup systems in place to
continually supply high quality drinking water to every home and business within the urban area of Kingston.
The 2005 reports show test results at the Kingston Central Plant that serves most areas east of Little Cataraqui Creek, the Kingston West Water Treatment
Facility serving areas west of Little Cataraqui Creek and the Cana Well System.
Copies of the reports are available from Utilities Kingston - 1211 John Counter Blvd, the 1425 Midland Avenue municipal office and City Hall. There is no charge
for a copy of the reports. Copies are also available at www.utilitieskingston.com/waterquality.
