Wednesday October 26, 2005 - 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Memorial Hall, City Hall - 216 Ontario Street

Stantec Consulting, in association with BPR-CSO and The Thompson Rosemount Group Inc., is performing a critical evaluation of Kingston's combined sewer system for Utilities Kingston.

The purpose of the study is to develop a guiding policy for the replacement or rehabilitation of the combined sewers in the City of Kingston. The project includes a review of the existing practices, an evaluation of alternative strategies, and a selection of a preferred strategy for the renewal of the combined sewers.

Alternative strategies being evaluated include renewing the sewers as combined, separating the sewers, or a combination of both approaches. The problem definition and policy review have been completed and alternative strategies have been identified and evaluated by the project team.

A first public open house was held in June 2005 to introduce the project and receive public comments on the alternatives to be evaluated. A second public open house is scheduled on October 26, 2005 to present the evaluation of the alternatives and to receive public comments on the recommended preferred alternative. The public open house will be in the format of a drop-in session with posted information boards and resource people available to answer questions.

The public open house will be held Wednesday October 26, 2005 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in Memorial Hall at Kingston City Hall, 216 Ontario Street.

Further information about this project will be posted during the study on Utilities Kingston Web site or contact:
