Project Notice:
Hydrant Inspections Public Notice

Details:

Utilities Kingston will be inspecting City of Kingston fire hydrants.

The majority of the work will take place during normal business hours. This work will include Utilities Kingston‘s crews flowing water from many of the fire hydrants throughout our city. During this fire hydrant inspection there will not be any disruption to your water service. In some cases there may be a colour change to the water as a result of the increased flow of water through the pipes supplying the water to your area. This will dissipate in a short period after the flowing of the hydrants is complete in your immediate area. Running of your own cold water faucet for 5 minutes will help to reduce any coloured water that may appear. Utilities Kingston suggests that you check that your water is clear before doing laundry or other projects that may be affected by discoloured water. You may also prefer to keep a pitcher of clear water in the refrigerator for drinking.
